I use the Master Mold Method to make doll molds -- the same method perfected by British and European craftsmen. Most doll parts -- the head, arms, and legs are still designed using white sculpting clay. Although some doll sculptors are now using plastercine. Plastercine allows the sculptor to stop and start his or her work at any time. There is a constant challenge to keep the sculpting clay from drying out -- not so with plastercine. As soon as I receive the doll parts for molding I work quickly to make to the impression molds of the various doll parts.Once the impression molds are completed, I begin to smooth and polish the inside surface of these molds. Once the inside of the impression molds have been polished I proceed to make a hard plaster Master. This hard plaster Master is now an exact replicate of the original clay or plastercine doll part. From the Masters of the doll parts, I proceed to complete a finished Case Mold. For further information, call Masterline today and make arrangements to ship your doll parts for mold making. |
